I wouldn't bother welding. Your photo #3 is all cancerous rust and non-weldable. You're most likely just going to blow right through whatever material is left.ah yes i didnt see the patch on the other handle. i got flux core gassless welder i could use maybe just slap some steel plates on? or rivet on aluminium sheets?
^^^^ this!I think you would have better luck trying to find a mower with a good deck and a bad engine and then do an engine swap. That's a lot of serious rust.
I have a rear engine Snapper rider with bagger that had the lift type blades that sand blasted the side of the deck open. My grass was mostly sand when I built the house. I ended up buying a steel garden hose hanger for 2 bucks, cut it to the width and used carriage bolts to mend the deck for another five years. Then I bought a new deck shell and a brand new John Deere LX255 with a dedicated mulching deck. Still have both units. I use the 30 year old Snapper bagger at the beginning of the season to pick of winters wrath and then the 22 year old LX255 the rest of the time.I always tell my neighbors mow when it is dry and blow off your mower when you are done mowing, to the OP, Good Luck!
You should be able to assemble a decent mower by swapping parts.Picked up same model mower with non working engine today. Deck is in mint condition. Pullcord is snapped so owner just put it in storage for years and sold it today to us. May swap pullcord over or do engine swap.
