I don't think it matters, they won't trust leasing airplanes from western firms either.

I'm under the impression that they trusted Airbus and Boeing quality more than they did their own indigenous aircraft.

This is going to be really weird. I'm wondering what kind of support they're going to have now or into the future with smaller aircraft such as helicopters.

I'm sure it´s a lifetime cost thing. You try leasing a popular car vs something obscure...

Interesting how we overstated Russia's military. They're not as good as we thought. They have vast nuclear capabilities etc,. but in aggregate, they're pretty beat.

True. But we have to keep in mind that many Russians have relatives and family in Ukraine.
