Running out winter tires in summer

Forgive me for not knowing Game of Thrones (even though it has been incorporated into Jeopardy questions).
...but how did userfriendly know to Google "Gloucester Fisherman"?

Game of Thrones...John Wick...$80,000 pickup trucks....all too hep for me.

My winter tires are too worn out for winter use so I decided to run them this summer. Contrary to the thought they would “ chunk out” they are wearing out normally. I guess the thought that they are too soft for summer is countered by the thought that old winter tires “ harden up”. They are down to 4/32 and will get replaced this fall. Enjoy.
They would wear rapidly if they were actually snow tires. All season tires are fine in the summer.

Usually I wouldn't have more than one set of tires for a car, winter/summer. But this one came with the extra set of winters on rims, so may as well keep on with it. Besides, it's my daughters car and I would rather give her all the help I can for winter driving. If only my state allowed studded tires, I would definitely have those on there.
