Thank you! When people say things like that, it makes me want to use it more!

Just saw this on the RP site:

Well there we have it. I love these words!!!

They are probably referring to ZDP levels and shear stability but it's not true that all non API/ILSAC oils are better.

Glad to see RP making new oils! About time!

NHHEMI, since they seem to like you, tell them they need to post the product data sheets.

There are limits allowed for anti wear additives, such as ZDDP, that RP feels make the oil less effective. They have been very vocal that they do not feel that SM anyway provides better anti wear protection than SL AND that they do not feel ZDDP is the big emmissions issue( poisoning CC's )it is made out to be. I think it is pretty easy to add 1 + 1 and come up with 2.

True, but only if you assume there are any 1's in the argument in the first place. "Feeling" like it makes the oil less effective is not a 1 to me.

Is ACEA A3 no longer usable in VW sparkers?

Quite the contrary -- 502/505 is exclusively A3/B3.

Can A3/B3-only oils be used in VW sparkers? That's a better question. (referring to RP 0w40).
