I recently moved from Ohio to Idaho and I noticed a lot of stores in Idaho carry this "Rugged" brand I've never seen before. It looks like it's legit stuff, it's API SN rated and it's made in Denver Colorado.

They seem to have 5w30, 10w30, and 10w40 offerings.

I looked and didn't see any consumer warnings about them on PQIA so I'm hoping this is good stuff because I can get it for $3.39 a quart here.

Has anyone on here used this brand before?

Nope, not seen before. Not sure on the point, not when I can buy “name” brand at wallworld for the same price.

Looks like something you would see at a farm implements store or the local co op.

I would pass.
I would too.

$3.39 a quart ain't bad if you truly need a single quart right now but.. Colorado Petroleum Products Company ?

Whose oil scraps are they bottling. Surprised it is API SN..

Just buy an oil from one of the majors and get you will be getting the good stuff.

Probably on par with Smittys Super S.

That they haven't bothered to market something in a 20 weight shows they're stuck in the 90s.

Would be worth it for a shop if they could get it under two bucks a quart.

Their Silver State line looks like it's plenty up to date...

Cwilliams if you feel like it is legit then go ahead and buy it and run it.

Maybe send a sample off to be lab tested as well.
