I was surfing aroung last night and noticed on the RP site the the company was started in 1980. What 1980? My Dad talks about that oil from time to time. He said it was popular in the 1950's 60's and most everyone called it "grape juice".

Would the be the same RP and was it a syn lube back then? He said it was considered top shelf stuff back then.

I believe it was from Union 76. My dad used it in his Packard in the early 1950's. It was purple colored.

Union 76 Royal Triton called RPM which many thought stood for Ruins Perfect Motors amoung the drag race crowd.
