Changed it back in June '11 with Rotella T6 5W-40 and put on a new Mobil 1 oil filter.
The previous fill was the exact same thing, also for 5k miles approx. The fill before that was a short run of PU 5W-30. I skipped UOA's on both of those.

See previous UOA here.
Sixth sample of 09/07/10 was PP 5W30 with a new Amsoil filter.
Fifth sample of 10/17/09 was Rotella T 10W-30 with a new Amsoil Filter.
Fourth sample of 8/20/09 was Rotella T 10W-30 and did not get a new filter, left the Amsoil filter on for 2 runs.
Third sample of 5/15/09 was Rotella T 10W-30 and a new Amsoil filter.
Second sample of 7/28/08 was GC with a UPF-52 filter.
First sample of 9/2/07 was Valvoline 10W-30 most likely with a cheap oil filter from my mechanic after fixing some oil leaks.

Napa Gold or Wix air filters used, changed at 10k mile increments (140k, 150k, etc.)

The Blackstone comments don't completely make sense because I forgot to correct the slip and it already had printed on it Mobil 1 10W-30 so that is what they thought I was running instead of the T6.

Blackstone Coments:
Now that's better. Both lead and silicon dropped nicely in this sample. If you found a leak and fixed it, it seems to have done the trick. Other wear metals look fine, too. Maybe the shorter oil run is to thank; it's hard to say for sure. Interestingly, the viscosity read quite high in this sample (in the 5W/40 or 15W/40 range). It doesn't look to have been caused by heat, so we're not sure what explains that. Still, with wear improving we can't get too excited about it. This is a good sample; hopefully these nice trends continue even if you go back up to 7K miles.

Things look pretty good this time, finally, so I think I'll probably stick to this oil and 5k mile OCI's. I still did plenty of towing this summer as well. We hauled the travel trailer to KY and back plus some more shorter trips so we weren't any easier on it. It seems to like the older 10W-30 Rotella (haven't tried T5 yet) and it really seems to like the T6. It sure didn't like the PP at all. 4 ppm less of Silicon couldn't possibly make that much difference even with the extra miles. Hard to say though. I'm not sure it is worth doing any more UOAs, this might be my last one.

Comments welcome.
