I'll be changing oil at around 1500 miles until I can get the fuel dilution down. First 2 UOA( NOT Rotella T) were with stock air intake and stock fuel map. Rotella T UOA was with opened-up air intake and Power Commander III with a rich map. So some of the increase in fuel dilution could be attributed running rich. Bike will be dyno-tuned next Monday so we'll see what that does for fuel dilution.

VOA for this jug of Shell Rotella T 15W40 posted in the VOA section.

your cst of 12.5 is right at the bottom of 40wt. however that is with 2.16% fuel. so really you are way way up in the 40wt range. yes, i would like to see fuel near zero, but you cant complain about the cst!

silicon came down very nicely!
alum is good
iron seems to be trending
as is copper (looks like maybe a hair down)
the lithium of 1 has got to be scatter.

get the fuel down and ride safe! looks very good!

Steve,

The oil from the first 2 samples had a fairly high baseline Silicon probably due to antifoam. The SRT VOA showed only 5 ppm, so that accounts for some of the drop in Si this time around.

These are pretty short runs so I realize it's hard to establish a real trend. Fe/Cu/Pb all seem to be in the ball park with the previous 2 UOA, if you look at it on a ppm/1K mile basis.

I'd really like to try some other oils in this thing but it will be a waste until I can get the fuel down. So this UOA at least confirms that SRT holds up fine for the short intervals, and it's cheap and readily available. I bought a 10 quart (9.5L) jug so I can get 3 oil changes out of that.

That's not bad advice at all. I want to get a set of Avon Storm II tires for this thing and they are expensive. The tire set is a bit of an odd combination and there are very few choices.
