GC was SL rated and held numerous European LL approvals; that doesn't make it "just for European cars" It could be used wherever a API 30 weight oil was specified.

The switch from green to gold GC had people driving all over the place, cracking open bottles in stores (until the date codes were deciphered) If I saw one more picture of the back of the bottle with people insisting it say "Made in Germany" and a medicine cup full of green GC, i was going to toss my cookies.

GC jumped the shark as will Pennzoils P whatever.

As always, a big deal over nothing. There is nothing all that spectacular about the oil. The only reason to buy Pennzoil over M1 is the current gasoline rebate.

I bought 18 quarts of PU in typical Bitog fashion... cause it was $1 a qt... I then walked over and bought 20 qts of NG for the same reason... $1 a qt.
