Many great blues contributions in his career. One of many excellent Texas blues guitarists that I recall: Freddie King, Albert Collins, Johnny Copeland and Stevie Ray?

Yes he was. I remember when his brother came out with "frankenstein," we were all like...."what the heck is that?" Just blew me away.

I posted a YouTube link to Johnny's "The Progressive Blues Experiment" lp from 1969 in the What Are You Listening To Now forum. That album is SOOOOOO powerful!! I remember playing my dad's copy on his stereo and on my Show and Tell record player when I was a little kid haha,I probably destroyed it!! I'll have to get it out next time I go see him,I know he still has it,along with all his old 1950's rock and blues records.
