RIP Joe Frazier

RIP. I haven't really watched much boxing since the days of his greatness. I think a lot of folks rooted for Joe when Ali was a 'talkin....But really we just wanted to see a good boxing match and it seems to me we weren't let down when Smokin' Joe was in the ring.

"down goes Frazier" "down goes Frazier" I don't remember which Ali/Frazier fight it was but I will never forget those words uttered by none other than Howard Cosell.

I liked their first fight better because Smokin' Joe won that one. Not to take anything away from Ali because he was one of the greatest fighters ever, but I could never stand his mouth and I always wanted to see him get beat. RIP Joe, you will be missed...

I know what you mean. I used to be a huge boxing fan until pay per view ruined it. I can still remember when Sugar Ray Leonard would fight for a title on regular TV. I probably couldn't name one fighter from today's fighters. They just don't make 'em like they used to...

You can't name Manny Pacquiao? Shane Mosley? Floyd Mayweather? really?

Okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit, but my point is I just don't follow the sport these days....it was much more interesting when fighters like Fraizer, Ali, Foreman, Leonard, Hagler, Hearns, Duran, etc, were fighting...

Amen to that

I knew exactly what you meant. I don't follow boxing at all anymore.
