Hey folks:

I have an old shop vac that supposedly takes a VF3500 filter. They were difficult to find for a while at the orange depot, so I made due with something from Amazon.

I just did some reno work - and the thing spewed insulation dusted everywhere. (Wife = pissed).

Around 2010 they changed the design of how the filter attaches. Mine screws on - the new version snaps on. I just learned that they also make a bag for it.

Any one use a bag? Or should I just pitch this thing to save my marriage?

does your hose go into the motor top or the container bottom? i have one that the hose goes into the top and i don't think they make bags for it. so i just bought a new one . this one takes bags.

bags keep the filter clean and are worth it .

it goes in the container bottom, and the bag spreads around the filter.

I can't see the bag holding that much - I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
