There could be a number of other leaks that arent visible yet but will ultimately require plywood replacement. I dont think the risk is worth the short term savings.

Just because it appears to be coming from the valley based on what you see from the interior space, doesn't mean that's where the actual leak is. Water will travel. Are there any roof penetrations near by? Plumbing vents, exhaust fan outlets, etc.? 30yrs is a lot for shingles, even if they have a 40yr warranty.

Just be glad you don't live in Florida, where you need to buy a new roof every 15 years just to be able to purchase homeowners insurance.
