1991 Chevrolet K1500, 4.3 V6, approximately 130k miles. I've owned this truck for about 6 years. The seals have been bad since I got the truck. Finally decided to have them replaced. Compression was good in all cylinders (140-170). Valve guides are a little worn. Other than no more blue smoke and having to worry less about checking the oil, what benefits might I possibly see from replacing the very worn valve stem seals?

Would it be reasonable to assume that oil isn't leaking into the cylinders, the fuel is burning more efficiently producing more horse power and better fuel economy?
