Replaced Puro Classic with Fram EG

Drained the Maxima today and changed the oil for some fresh 5W30 Super Tech conventional. I lost track of the mileage on this OCI, and probably have closer to 6K than 5. I replaced the Purolator L14610 out for a PH7317 Fram Extra Guard OCOD. I opened the Puro with a hammer and gasket scraper and only found good things. Please excuse the damage I caused myself. Straight, well spaced pleats with no tearing.

The OCOD I installed was bought from Goodwill. It was marked $3.99, but had a green sticker which was 50% off that day, so I only paid $1.99 for it. Made in Canada BTW.

They closed their Canadian factory years ago. The filter's probably still good though.

UCI Fram completed shuttering the long time Fram plant in Stratford in September of 2012. It was announced August of 2011 shortly after Rank purchased Fram from Honeywell. UCI/Fram Rank also recently completed stuttering the Fram/Champ plant in York South Carolina. Orange can shown likely ok to use. As for L14610, second recent solid report of no issues with this application. A reasonably substantial oci too. Interesting filter dissection technique. Thanks for taking time to post results.
