My daughters 03'Chrysler Sebring passenger side OEM aluminum wheels were damaged in an accident. They need to be replaced.
Someone told here that you must replace all 4 wheels as a set.
Is there any truth to this. Why or why not?
Thanks.
My personal opinion is that is false. If a wheel did not meet an unusual obstruction (ie: coming to a stop by sliding into a curb) there is nothing wrong with it.
Alex.
They were probably thinking about tires which ideally should have equal tread all around.
You could probably get two new rims, two new tires, and put those on the front, and move the old set to the rear as long as they aren't more than half worn. Real bad bald tires in the rear are a bad idea b/c of spinouts... the thread of "where do new tires go" pops up here every month or so.
