Replace 2 or 4?

I have a set of 4 Pirelli P7 AS Plus tires that I use on a FWD vehicle in the summer. They have about 8/32 tread left and are manufactured in 2018. One of them is damaged due to road debris.

Would you replace 2 or all 4?

Can you not just replace the damaged tire? Being 8/32, it's not like there will be a dramatic difference in tread depth.
Gotta agree with this. This gets you the remaining, what, 50,000 miles out of those other three tires. Your current wear on those tires is only two or three thirty-seconds. This has no safety detriment. If you were halfway through the other tires, down at 4-6/32, I would suggest putting big boy pants on and replacing all four. On the same topic, in my experience, it's never really all that good to replace two at a time. You end up with mismatched axles and tire life mismatches.

I'm assuming that model is discontinued. Unless you can find a single tire of the same model for dirt cheap, I'd bite the bullet and replace all four, especially considering they are getting up there in age. The current P7 AS+3 seem to be excellent tires. Unfortunately the winter rebates aren't as good as the spring rebates this time around.

Next spring when I will be putting them on will be 2025, so 7 years. That's the only reason I was even contemplating doing all 4.

I normally don't buy used tires, and due to the age mismatch I don't know if having 1 new one and 3 seven year old ones is a good idea.

Unless there is a drastic difference in performance characteristics I assume having different tires on different axles is ok.

With 8/32, I would feel fine with those on the front. Put the new ones on the rear. The new ones won't wear much on a FWD. That way they match better when you wear down the fronts and replace those.

If it was AWD, I would just replace them all, they would need worn the same ( same diameter) for AWD.
