During the great Seattle snowfall of 2012,my truck was involved in a collision. The other party was 100% at fault,so their insurance is paying for a rental car. I was "upgraded" to a Kia Sorento. Its a 2011 with 20K miles. This thing is easily the loudest car I've ever driven. The road noise is horrendous. You can't have a normal conversation with the kids in the back seat because they can't hear me unless I'm almost yelling. I'm not driving this thing every day. I'd be pulling my hair out. I'm parking it in the driveway and I'll keep driving the Outback for the next week.

I find it hard to believe that the alignment on a rental SUV would be off. /sarcasm Anyway, that probably is an upgrade. Most insurance companies pay for a midsize, which is a Kia Spectra or Chevy Cobalt as far as they are concerned.

Go back to wherever you rented it from and just ask for a different car. They swap stuff all the time. Just tell them you want a different vehicle.

I thought about that, but I don't feel like wasting another hour at Enterprise.

I drove it again this morning. The brakes groan, there is an obnoxious rattle in the dash, and at about 20mph the road noise kicks in its afterburners. She is a POJ for sure. frown

Most likely crabby factory tires...while Kia's suspension tuning is way to firm I've heard, road noise was never an issue though.

Its a Kia, what do you expect? A lot of Asian cars have a lot of road noise, I think the new Honda's and Toyota's are horrible.
