Redline Diesel Fuel Additive

I recently purchased a 2001 VW Golf TDi with 46k miles on it. I don't know the maintenence history of the car so I'd like to make sure everything is in check. This redline fuel additive is supposed to be pretty good at making everything work well. Is this a good product to use on my car? I figure I'll replace the fuel filter after a couple of tanks with this stuff.

I like the redline fuel additive. Ive also had real good success with shell rotella DFA additive, and you can get that in gallon jugs, and then just distribute a little at a time, saving you $$$ in the long run, and definitely improving mpg a bit.

Dont put too much additive in, though, or it ca drop your mileage and create its own deposits.

Make sure you use mobil delvac 1 or M1 truck&SUV 5w-40 in that one.

I have used Red Line RL-3 diesel additvie with good results. Suggested treat rate is 1 oz. per 10 gallons of fuel.

I used this stuff in my Mercedes Benz 300D and was very impressed. I had a spark knock kind of noise and this stuff made it go away completely. Mercedes Benz Dealers Mech. recommended it. It colors my attitude toward Redline products which I think are top notch.

My girlie has a 99.5 TDI and raves about that stuff. She's not particularly particular about her car, but after we were out of stock on that stuff and I installed it again she was like "What did you do to my car?! It's running great!" High praise indeed!

good to hear. I'll pick up a bottle next time I go to summit racing(I think they have it). So should I use like 1/4 of the bottle per full tank? And maybee once a month or so?

Assuming you are filling up an almost empty tank, two ounces of Red Line diesel additive should be more than enough. Just add a little each fill up.
Consider keeping the bottle in a zip lock bag. The additive can stink a bit.

The bottle has lines on it; we run it at two lines/tank constantly in the winter and then only sporadically when the weather is warm. For first time use, I think I added an entire bottle to a full tank right before an oil change.
