Going forward, I think I want to stick with a DOT 3 fluid on application that call for DOT 3.

The Valvoline conventional that I have been using is a DOT3/4 fluid - and is not what I want.

Any recommendations on a high-quality DOT3 brake fluid?

Thanks.

What problems is the Valvoline causing that makes you not want it?

What features rules it out for you as not high quality?

Castrol brake fluid is generally well-regarded.

Prestone DOT 3 would work too, and very cheap. Dry boiling point 460-470 F.

As long as you change it every 2-3 years, it doesn't matter what you buy. Flushing the brake fluid regularly is MUCH more important than what fluid you use.
