What is a good recommendation for a stabilizer and how long can it make the fuel last in mowers/power equipment?

I would suggest blue marine Stabil at Walmart, etc. Its got more cleaners than the other Stabil products. Shelf life for Stabil is only 2 years once opened, so do not buy a huge container.

Your gas should be good for a year. I would dump any remaining gas into the car/truck in the fall.

The real need for stabilized gas in OPE is for generators. A generator is no good in a blackout if you have no gas. Some blackouts have been regional and there is no gas to be had without driving for hours.

I solved that problem with a propane generator.

Sta-Bil blue marine. I think it's the same as Sta-bil ethanol formula. Most gas has some ethanol in it and your state may not require the pump to be labeled when it's below 10%. (Missouri is one).

As mentioned, it's supposed to be good for a year, but that is stretching it a bit IMO.

Excellent advise on the generator too. +1
