The starter went out on my gf`s Olds. I have no way to get it off the ground to fix it myself (all I have are Rhino Ramps). Where can I get a VERY good floor jack and jackstands?

All jacks are now Chinese made. That said,Sears is ok,and Harbor Freight has a good warranty policy.

HF jackstands are good. I have a Sears jack that must me 25 years old and I added some jack oil recently and its doing fine. The larger jacks have a larger and more stable footprint. SamClub and HF both have a nice 3 ton jack. I assume we are talking floor jacks right?

Yep,a floor jack to act as a lift so I can work on our cars when I`m not able to drive them up on the ramps.

No they are not.

Sears "Craftsman 2-1/4 ton Floor Jack Set with 2-1/4 ton Jack Stands" is on sale this week $44.99 (reg price $89.88).

Probably for what he wants to spend is. I just bought a HF 3 ton for $44 after I found the coupon online.

Can you point me to that coupon?

If you don't mind spending a little money -- I have fallen in love with my OTC Jack I bought from Amazon. It's huge, and needs a garage of its own, but because it's lightweight and has a rubber pad I couldn't ask for a better jack for the money. I used a 2.25 ton craftsman jack for years, and while it worked, it required blocks of wood to prevent harming the underside of the car and usually didn't fit well underneath most cars. Link to OTC Jack: http://www.amazon.com/OTC-1533-Aluminum-...0833&sr=1-1 It's a little expensive now, I got mine for $250 shipped.

It's on slickdeals. There is a seperate thread for HF coupons. It's in that thread somewhere. It's a reprint or a saved copy from an ad in a magazine.
