I have a minor transmission leak and i am almost 100% positive it is orginating from the rear transmission seal. i would rather not have to constantly check my trans fluid level. also my father said that he recently replaced the seal, just the seal. any help would be appreciated.

I agree with Chris142- if the seal was just replaced and its already leaking again then it probably needs a rear bushing also. You don't say what kind of car, but if its a rear-drive American car, its a pretty simple job. Its really not that much harder than just replacing the seal.

If the seal was replaced exactly as the original ,then it is riding on the wear patch it created. When replacing the seal set it in or hang it out a bit so the lip contacts a fresh contact.

Check your rear busing. Wobblation will cause a new seal to leak.
Bad U joints contribute to occilations that cause leaks.
A bad rear trans mount [or even an engine mount, may cause a low angle, and a lot of wear on the seal and rear bushing.
A Speedy Sleeve may be used to repair a bad seal wear surface on the driveshaft. It needs it's own special larger seal, then.

So check out the u joints, mounts, bushing, and seal surface.
