Needing to replace radiator in my Nissan Titan. Titans have a big problem with lower tank splitting. I find radiators priced from $114.00 - $472.00. Is there any difference between these ? Will the cheaper one not last just as long ? Your help is appreciated.

The $114 is likely a cheapo aftermarket unit while the $472 is from the dealer.

I recently just refurbished the cooling system in my vehicle with a new water pump, new heater hoses and coolant pipes, thermostat, thermostat housing, transmission cooler lines and of course the radiator.

I went with a Koyo replacement rad from a local source with a lifetime warranty on it. So far so good... no issues.

EDIT: I paid $240 CDN for the Koyo rad for a Neon.

getnpsi, yes the titan has plastic tanks. The lower tank splits frequently on the titan. Stillen has an all aluminum radiator $472.00. Pretty expensive.

Making a replacement radiator with metal tanks would be very costly. Our custom jobs like that start out at $600 and go up from there.

Most people don't know how much labor goes into custom built radiators.

There are some brands with plastic tanks that I don't like to sell.

Better brands are Loyyo, Visteon, Valeo, GDI and our main supplier although Chinese usually Cool line. So far the Chinese Cool line parts are good quality.

I have sold and replaced dozens of Titan rads in the last couple of years.

I'd stay away from the all aluminum ones my self. Thats a big chunk of change and for the most part they are not repairable if a rock or something causes a leak.

The "Radac" brand I put in my Caddy 2 years ago is already leaking. It's been in use about 5000 miles, so I'm not impressed with the brand. I'm in the process of taking it out right now. Not sure if it's under warranty. At least I don't have the added expense of having someone else take it out and re-install.
