I am looking for a smooth quiet, good wet/dry no winter driving tire.
I find one that looks great, but then find major flaws. I am tired of researching.

The Continental TrueContact Tour 54 looks good, but the review indicated that performance may fall off at high speed.
I drive 75 - 80 mph, will they still be quiet ?
Alternative ?
Thanks in advance.

Problem is a lot of tire stores at least around here will only install the same speed rating...They say it is for liability...
I could understand if they didn't want to downgrade a speed rating of the tires, but why would they care if the rating were upgraded? It arguably improves the safety with a higher rated tire for any given speed under the max limit. That doesn't mean the car will go faster ... If I put V rated tires on my ES350, that doesn't make it go 149mph ...

I have them with roughly 10k miles on my cx5. They're slightly quieter and softer than the long-named Pirellis they replaced. Dry and wet grip leaves something to be desired compared to the Pirellis. I normally do 70-75 and didnt really notice any drop off of performance compared to any other tire NVH at that speed. Overall a better roadtrip highway tire than the Pirellis.

They willbut on a upgraded speed rating ...they will not downgrade like going from v to h....

It is difficult to determine the noise level of a tire before installing it on a vehicle. Each model of tire will behave differently due to the unique characteristics of each suspension setup and resonant frequencies attributed to their designs. Each driver will perceive sound in their own way too. I would recommend finding a review of the exact tire you want mounted on a vehicle identical to yours and go from there.

Sounds like a great idea, but where would I find a review of the Continental TrueContact Tour mounted on a 2018 Maxima.

A Nissan forum or tire specialty site. It can be a car from that same generation and does not necessarily have to be that exact year.
On a tire that was released last month?

The release date was august 2024? or did you have the Tour (non 54)?

Based off the Company's reputation, the tread design, and newness of the model. It should be an above average tire and I wouldn't have a problem buying them.
If I was in the market for a standard touring tire.

I didn't realize there was a new version; mine is the non-54 made sometime late last year. I thought 54 was some typo lol.
