First post, great info here..I purchaed an 07 Ford Focus for my daughter. The manual I believe says trans flush at 60k, the dealer recommends a BG flush and trans fill at 30k. Anybody have a thought or two of which way I should go?

If you planning to keep the car for a long time, get a transmission flush done every 30k. If you have a 4 speed 4F27E, the transmission only holds 7.1 quarts. Mobil and Valvoline have a Full synthetic ATF Mercon V spec'd for Ford Vehicles for a decent price.
I would ask the dealer to do a plain flush (no BG chemicals) at 30K. You could probably wait to 60K, you would need to know that the factory fill was synthetic. You do not need BG chemicals, a fluid exchange via flush is enough, the BG chemicals mess up a used oil analysis if you ever want one.
Agree 100% with both post above. Do not put any harsh chemicals in your transmission. The dealer offers that extra service because they make a nice profit from it. I will guarantee that Ford does not want any harsh chemicals in their transmissions.

Thx guys..Doanld, I have no idea what a used oil analysis is? but I do plan to drive the vehicle a long time, so I'll change it at 30k minus the BG I reckon
UOA = used oil analysis. Can be done on various fluids including ATF. I had one done on my ATF and found out what I thought was in my transmission was not correct.
You can also do your own flush by disconnecting one of the cooler lines, draining out 2 QTs of ATF, add 2 QTs via dipstick and continue cycle. Best to drain and refill the pan first (least mixing of old and new fluids).
If you have the dealer do the flush, ask him to drain the pan first and refill before starting the flush.
If you want the car to last a super long time, switch to a synthetic ATF and install an inline filter, like a Magnefine.

BG may be a little harsh at 30K,any thoughts on using 6z of ARX in the transmission for 1k before servicing it?
