Questions for Subaru guys.

I'm looking for Subaru maintenance resources like a Subaru forum, good sources for parts, even a simple maintenance schedule.

Due to health issues with my father-in-law, I'm needed to step in to maintain my mother-in-law's 2001 Subaru Forester. It is currently at 107,xxx mi. I suspect the maintenance has been less than required in recent years so I'm concerned about the condition of the timing belt and clutch.

Steer me in the right direction because I couldn't find a maintenance schedule on the Subaru web site without a fee and the forums I've found so far are great if I'm planning to rally it. Not so much for keeping the mother-in-law's car trouble free.

At 100k the timing belt is due, not a easy job on the old scoobarus in my opinion.

Nothing to special or different, plugs can be hard on the boxer but only to get it.

As for OEM replacement parts.

There used to be a maintenance list within the Subaru site. Yhe maintenance schedual is under "Owners"

One of the nice things about owning a Subaru is the amount of information that is available on the web. For my Impreza, I was even able to find a service manual.

Subaru's owner site at https://www.subaru.com/my-subaru/index.html requires registration but no fee. It has the online owner's manual with maintenance schedule and if you enter the VIN will tell you if there were any recalls completed/outstanding. The full online service manual does require a fee, though.

as long as you can get to the front of the engine the T-belt should be easier than a FWD vehicle. The T-belt on my 92 was stupid easy after I figured out which pulley to take off to get the new belt on in the proper order :0
