Hello,

is there anyone that knows HTHS values for Elf HTX 830 (10w30) and 822 (15w50) oils ?

And PAO/POE percentages ? I'm not able to find those values on their sites...

PS: given that, according to the oil tolerances I have in my engine ( Toyota 3SGTE 2000cc turbo 425+ 4whp ) I'd like to use a 10w40 oil, could it be possible to mix those 2 oils without any issue ?

TIA.

Forgot to add that Elf does not recommend HTX range as a subsitution of "civil" oils. If I am not mistaken, they said 802 is more suitable for daily use, but again under number of reservations.

Primus,

You are always a solid source of good information. It appears to me that ELF takes the logical approach that oils should be used strictly according to the intent of their "design." I would follow their advice and use the racing oils for racing and ...well you all get the idea. It is clear to me that Motul takes this approach as well.

BTW,

talking about euro oils... especially Motul and Elf...
do you know/could ask the PAO/POE percentages of these oils ?

PS: why Elf does not recommend HTX range as a subsitution of "civil" oils ?

TIA.

Elf's street oils and racing oils are 80% PAO based per my conversation with Elf USA. Don't get caught up in all the Ester hoopla.

I only got caught up in hoopla one time...it was when Hawaii was very popular on the mainland and the hula was the dance to do: you guessed it; I got caught up in the Hula Hoopla...yup, it's all true
