I was in Boston,Ma. last week and had to go to Kelly's roast beef on Revere Beach and found the shells on the beach. Anyone know what creature they belong to ? Thanks

Yup, clams shells. We get'em in St. Pete's Beach, FL. They make good clams casino but not so much for steaming due to being too chewey.

Always just called 'em sea clams, the more you cook them, the chewier they get. Around here, the Indian shell heaps are mostly mussels. So that gives you an idea about their food value.

The only clams I've had that were worth eating were cherry clams. The ones I had came out of the York River and were roasted over an open fire, as soon as they start to open, fork em out and of course dipped in garlic butter.
