I was just wondering what grade of oil does your owners manual specify for the newer 2001+ Honda's and Ford's. Is it 5W-20 like ours in the US, or is it different? I know all the Honda's are either made in Ohio or Ontario and I assume we use the same engines. The Fords use mostly the same engines too right? Thanks.

Honda cars in Canada are specifying 5w20 since M/Y 2001 also. My wife's 2000 Civic was the last year that they called for 5w30.

yeah that's right, 5w-20 seems to apply to all Honda engines from the Civic to the Accord. The hybrid Civic actually calls for 0w-20. The RSX-S calls for 5w-30 oil though, the base RSX calls for 5w-20, which makes me suspicious.

My 2002 TL manual says 5W20.. 2001's or earlier wants 5w30... same engine. The only 5-20 my car has seen is when Acura did the first free oil change...
Its been 5-30 ever since. Not sold yet on 5-20
Wait and see

My 2001 Accord 4cyl, specifies 5W-20. I'm not sold on it either, and I've experienced a little bit of consumption with it (1qt/3k). Right now it's running on the German Castrol 0W-30 and the consumption has subsided. As far as I can tell anyhow.
