Naphthenic Hydrocarbons, Mineral Spirits, Chlorinated Hydrocarbons.

Can someone tell me what these are, and what their purpose is?

I might use some in my brother's car, was just curious as to what these ingredients are.

The ingredients are marvelous and mysterious.

(from SNL skit "it's a floor cleaner! It's a dessert topping!")

It's an engine cleaner!
It's a cologne!

It's both!!

I noticed that if you get a small amount on your hands it smells like a certain brand of mint flavored candy I used to eat as a kid back in the 70's. I can't remember the name of the candy.

No mystery to the MMO smell: oil of wintergreen. As hokey as it may sound that stuff is a very aggressive cleaner. It is good for freeing stuck mechanisms at room temperature. I really like it for stiff and neglected door hinges. As for what happens to wintergreen oil in the crankcase or combustion chamber I can't say.
