New to this forum and learning a lot. Check the boards often, and you guys post FAST.

I've been reading that PZ YB gets rave reviews, and I was wondering what you thought about Penzoil High Mileage. Is it basically the same oil except with different additives?

I tried to search, but I get every post except the one's I'm looking for.

The cars I would use it in include a 1986 Ford Escort GT w/282k; 1997 Chrysler T&C AWD 3.8 w/161k, Honda Accord LX I4 w/95k, and possibly a 1991 Porsche 944 w/130k.

Any thoughts if this stuff is OK to use in these cars and if it's that much better than the yellow bottled stuff?

TIA!

The stuff is very good. A highly appraised and easy to find HM oil that gets excellent rave on here is the Valvoline MaxLife Synthetic Blend.

A lot will tell you it is the best bang for the buck.

HM oils usually are a lil bit thicker in viscosity and have a higher detergency pack and a tiny bit more anti-wear additives plus it conditions seals to minimize any leakage. Use YB PZ with confidence. Its great. Another great HM oil is Valvoline Maxlife which is semi-syn and at a good price too.

The Pennzoil HM is formulated with a higher viscosity range. The 100C cSt is around 11.7 for the 30 grade and 15.1 for the 40 grade. The HTHS is 3.4 for the 30 grade and 4.1 for the 40 grade. It has extra detergents, extra dispersant's, and of course the extra seal conditioners.

I would not use it in the Porsche, that baby would get a synthetic like a Mobil 1 10W-40 HM.

I have been studying UOA's for several months as part of a project. The MaxLife shows excellent UOA'S in both synthetic and synthetic blend.

I think this oil and the MC blend are the two best values in oil today. I think MC blend was $12.50 for 5 quarts at WM the other day, hard to beat that price coupled with very good results.

I put the Pennzoil High Mileage in my grandparents minivan. My grandpa does not like synthetics, so when I saw PZ HM was the same price as regular PZ YB, I grabbed some for it.
