No it is not. media looked good.

Definitely ... uses the Purolator date code too. This one was made 1-22-2013.

So maybe the cheap version of the Puro Classic isn't as prone to media failure as the Purolator branded one?
Looks really good for 5K on a bottom dollar filter.
I'm guessing that this filter is a Fram PH3600 equivalent?

yep. Purolator makes the QS Filters (Purolator cassic clone), and they also make the Pennzoil branded Filters. (and the made in the USA labeled Bosch and MANN filters, and some of the Mopar filters(some are WIX), and Motorcraft filters, etc...)

This one has a glued seam, and all the Purolators with tears have the metal seam.

Looks like the Ford variants (3600 and 8A) of Purolators are holding up good. Could very well be the seam construction.

This is the Quaker State version of Puro's L20195 series, those have been holding up fine.

Not bad for a $2 filter!
Held up very well, and cost practically nothing.
Kinda hard to beat that combo.

One answer to the L14459 torn media hysteria is to run one of these in it's place, as long as it fits. Now if they just put a better ADBV in them...
