Got the results for the first UOA on this 2.7L Turbo. Almost a thousand miles of this is hauling a 3,250 pound travel trailer and a fair amount of time off road in the desert. It seems to be doing fine.

Currently running M1 EP 5W-30.

How does it feel when towing? Have you towed the same trailer with a V8 in the past? I'm curious peoples thoughts and these never small displacement turbo engines in pickups.

I've towed this trailer with a 3.6L Jeep Gladiator, a 3.5L EB Ford F-150 and now this Colorado ZR2.
The ZR2 does great. Very relaxed at 65 mph, plenty of torque. Goes over passes with without getting stressed. I'm very pleased with how it does. Mine is rated 310 hp and 430 lb ft torque.

Looks like your engine is breaking in nicely. Even with you putting it to work, the oil still appears to be in good shape. Did you take note of what the oil life monitor was at for the OCI? I have only heard good things so far about this 2.7L engine from GM, which I think is a good sign since it have been on the market for awhile now.

But but but, you can't work these tiny engines, they will explode into a shower of sparks and flames!!

I kid, good to see people using their trucks the way they're intended!! Good UOA as well!

Some of the guys down at the local Chevy dealer tell me that the 2.7l is the engine they DON'T see in the shop regularly. The 5.3l and 6.2l, that's a different story.

Outside of the purge pump on the 2.0 and 2.7 GM family of engines, both have been fairly reliable. Purge pump is a quick and easy replacement, and extended TSB.
