I just switched from Mobil 1 5W-30 and put in Mobil 1 0W-40. My timing chain clatter during cold starts has been significantly reduced. The motor runs quieter, and surprisingly... my coolant temp has dropped a bit as well

maybe due to better lubrication

I'm not complaining!
I've also noticed no noticeable change in fuel mileage after several tanks of gas.
I love this oil. I'll see about getting a UOA on this after 10K-12K (kilometers).
Just though I'd share for those with the QR's out there that haven't tried this stuff.

I own a nissan ser specv that has the same engine. I have used the mobil1 0w40 sl gl-3 in it. I had a uoa done on it by blackstone labs and it looked good. All wear metals were lower then normal universal averages at 4837 miles on the oil. The tbn was 5.3. They did state universal averages show typical wear metals for an oil from this type of engine after about 5900 miles run on the oil.

I am using 5-30 XD3 Esso dino for breakin on a 05 QR25DE X-Trail, I then go to XD3 0-30 syn, POA Group 4 at 10K kms. XD3 0-30 is an HDEO and pretty heavy 30, I think the XD3 0-40 would be too thick, would 0-40 Mobil be close to 0-30 syn XD3 HDEO?

I can give specs on the XD3 syns to compare to Mobil if that helps?

Luvs2drive, still thinking of an X-TRail, I have no complaints, that sensored AWD is great, shovels on acreage thrown away, hitting black ice at 70 miles per hour is not my preference or wish, but this AWD will kick in at highway speed, some peace of mind.

Car: Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (QR25DE)

Mileage: About 20,000km on this new engine. Fuel economy hasn't changed enough to be easily seen.

Location: ? Ontario Canada.

Yep, this is a great oil for several Nissans. It seems now that the manufacturer is on the 5W-30 bandwagon now, even on engines that 40wts. were recommended for before.

CAFE rules, I guess?
