Good evening BITOGERS smile This filter and unknown oil was off of a friends 2017 Chevrolet Impala, 3.6 engine. Miles on car is 23,545. Looks ok, other than that wavy pleat. Put a WIX filter and some Harvest King 5w30 Synthetic in and on.

Yup, Purolator is junk! I’m amazed people put this trash on a engine that costs lots of $$$$$

Car51 - The general public does not know and they don't care. As long as they have a receipt documenting the oil change, the warranty requirements are met. I would not put that on a friend’s car either. As long as Purolator wins the contracts to make them, it’s business as usual. frown

Hey, no torn pleats! the oil in the pleats appears a little sludgy?

MotorCraft has their name put on them and sometimes they tear. In this instance, the filter finished it’s mission without failure. However, the pleat next to the seam is in a position where tearing has been observed. This is a filter series I would avoid. No reason to risk them.
