Hello,

This filter came off of a 2010 honda civic with 170,000 miles. I ran this filter for about 4-6k miles with Pennzoil platinum synthetic. (I accidentally reset the trip odometer and did not catch how many miles were driven when it reset. I'm sure its under 6k)

Since I read on this forum that purolator one was shown to have media tear issues and I lost the actual miles driven, i decided to change the oil. I was concerned since i had been using Purolator one filters for my past 3 or 4 oil changes. So i joined this forum, got a pair of tin snips, cut it up, and this is what i saw.

This is my first post. I welcome all recommendations or input if i left out important information.

Looks decent, and the pleat spacing looks OK at the seam ... therefore, low chance of tearing. It's the filters with huge pleat spacing at the seam that are more susceptible to tearing. The issue is, the next filter off the assembly line might have large pleat spacing ... manufacturing QA is key to it all.

Looks great! I have also been concerned about the "tear-o-lator", but it seems like they have some solid units rolling out these days, especially with this line having a high pleat quantity, which I think helps to minimize spacing irregularities.

I wouldn't hesitate to use these. I think the silicone o-ring gasket is also a bonus

Yeah. I've been using these with regularity. Hopefully they've all been as good as this one.

I usually change this filter every 3-4k with conventional oil. I only started using full synthetic this past oil change.

Looks like December 2019 production correct? Thank You Zee 😊🍺

Very nice photos. May I ask what oil and filter went back in and on? Thank You sir 🇺🇸👍😊

You are supposed to carry the parties line. Shame on you!

I'm pretty sure the tear situation is under control with these filters but still have seen some issues with split ADBV on some part numbers.

Looks good to me, like it got the job done. Used close app PL14612 on a Rogue awhile ago, posted c&p, good results. Been using close cousin Bosch Prem 3323, also solid results. That said, I only purchase on promo/sale at a price, not advertised retail. 14610/14612 don't have an issue with adbv slits/ indentions because central portion narrow and doesn't rest on inlet holes.

Thanks for posting c&p. Nice first post.
