Be mindful of gasket thickness on Purolators. They are too thin to seal the air filter housing on my truck properly. The two halves of the housing move around, and when I ran one I saw evidence of unfiltered air getting past (dust on the top half of the housing). I was not pleased. I have checked ones on the shelf at stores since then, and same thin gasket.
Frams tend to have a thick gasket. I like that.
When in doubt, use OEM. But, I have never had a problem from any Fram air filter. I have never in my life purchased a Fram oil filter. I have purchased many Fram air filters.
