So I just received the results from my second OA in my truck. The first was at approximately 4,000 miles, and the second was at approximately 10,000 miles, both well ahead of the OLM. Both using Mopar factory filers. I expected the first one to be high on contaminants since it was “break in” oil. But the second one seems kinda weird. I’m not super familiar with OA’s, but I know people on here are. Is this of any concern? Change more frequently? The second one was after a 1700 mile trip at at 13,500gvw. I do tow a travel trailer often in the summer.
Pics in 3rd post.
Thank you.

too small to read.

you need to link externally hosted full size pics or take zoomed in screenshots etc.

Here’s a clearer view.
This shows both samples in the first pic and the second pic is comments from the second sample.

break in is going to take more than one or two OCIs.

Odd that the Ca and Mg are so vastly different on the same brand/grade oil in the two samples.

The thing that seems weird to me is the comment that says “viscosity low for specified grade.”
I don’t really know what the 11.5 on the physical test represents.

Copper might be leaching from a new oil cooler.

The iron is lower despite a longer run with a lot more load. At least it's trending down.

How many miles did you run on the initial factory fill. I like to run at least 500 mi with the break in oil or high moly and zinc liquid assembly lube in the engine?

Having not seen any 6.4 HD early analysis I can't say what's normal.

You might ask them to run a fuel dilution test next time. 11.5 cSt is down well into the 30 Grade range.

The first batch of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum looks like SN Formulation and the second SP.

3918 miles on factory fill. The first scheduled change was 10,000, which seems nuts.
What is SN/SP?

API rating SN was old then we had SN+ current API rating is API SP

Those pics are legible. The oil was below what a xw-40 but not badly.
not a huge issue. Maybe some fuel dilution from winter (cold starts warm up idling etc.)

Mopar. So I assume Pennzoil Ultra Platinum?
Oh okay. I don't know what the price is on that Pennzoil Ultra Platinum but Pennzoil platinum euro 0w-40 is just $25 a jug on wm.com. It's pretty new on the market and has the api sp rating where Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-40 has been around for several years. I'd imagine Pennzoil Platinum Euro and Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-40 are near identical.

Roger. I don’t idle much. Plug it in when it’s cold. The reason is there have been a fair amount of cam failures in 5.7 and 6.4 Hemi engines in years past that some have attributed to excessive idle time, for some reason mainly in MDS engines, like mine. Hopefully that issue has been rectified.

Some of the 40 grades appeared to skip +.
Regardless the older change appears to have been formulated without regard to LSPI concerns

My mistake. I thought factory fill was still 5w30 on the HD line. Shows how out of date I am.
No. It’s 0w40. It’s actually kind of hard to find locally except at the dealer. Which is weird. It’s not like I have an uncommon vehicle.

I really appreciate y’all’s input. This site gets so deep in data and minutia, I get lost and need translators.
So, with the analysis info, how long should I go on this oil before I change it, 6,000 again for uniformity?
