Its on their website at the top of PU page. Pennzoil Ultra
Thanks for the link. interesting they are taking on the king of clean lol !

I don't know how a company can make these kinds of claims. Unless they have 2 identical motors with identical sludge running under identical conditions it's tough to prove one is better than the other. I would like to believe PU cleans better because I am not really a mobil fan. I am sure it works great though. Alot of testing has gone into it I'm sure.

Isn't a requirement of the testing cited by Pennzoil for that picture, new identical engines need to be tested? If that is the case I would assume that Pennzoil just simulated 30-50k miles on the engines by doing the same revs etc. and then tore down and compared. Thanks for the link OP.

Mobil has a very similar set of pics (but with all eight pistons) on their site that Ben posted up recently. He speculated that They compared PU to the older SM formula of M1 5w30.

I used Syntec for years and had this varnish on my dipstick. I switched to Mobil 1 for 2 years and it was still on there, then I switched to PP. PP made my dipstick look like new and also informed me that I need to replace the valve cover gaskets when it cleaned that area out!

Exactly. The engines would've had to have exactly the same dirtiness before they could claim superior cleaning. Maybe somehow they did but it's very unlikely.

This is why I'm putting it in my 37k mile Saturn SL2 that had 20 oil changes in 33k miles at the dealer! I'll keep those rings uncoked, dog-gone it. smile

Sorry, what was the subject again? I got distracted by the prominent display of beautiful vintage and modern Mopars and Ferraris in the PU advertising. ;-) Its sure obvious who they're partnered with these days.

crackmeup that PP is simply amazing. Did all that for $5 a bottle? I haven't heard of oils costing 2x as much doing that. Wow. thumbsup
