Seems like the Pennzoil Ultra that has been discontinued is a better rated oil over the synthetics they currently have.

Thats my bet. So if it has the right bottling dates for the FRN codes, I'm still buying it where I can find it.

Ottawa Kansas has some as of this morning, if anyone nearby is interested.
 
The NOACK on the new stuff isn't bad.

It's just not as good as the NOACK for the old stuff.

But the new stuff is still great.

So what really are we talking about?

Pennzoil probably put a little extra Z-7 in the mix to make up for the NOACK difference.

Maybe they threw in an extra handful of liquid ball bearings too.
