And it has a nitrile (black) ADBV? (That is Anti Drain Back Valve.)

Filter was somewhat heavy. A little taller than the Fram ToughGuard TG3614. Had it on the Taurus for about 1000 miles. Did same cleaning method and dosage as DIY Dave in this video.. in an attempt to "load up" the media on this cheap service filter the shop uses. Replaced with Fram TH3614 and topped up appropriate amount of Amazon Basics 0W-40 to make halfway on dipstick.

Again, filter changed because Yamalube into oil and fuel as was done in this video. 1000 miles on that oil. (Oil type and grade is technically unknown.)

Here is the filter.

And please, do not worry. Garage floor cleaned right after. Why wouldn't it be. Oil level shot is level check after first trip, replacing estimated amount of oil in old filter into fill hole and checking after coming out of store.

Quality filter ?

Looks a LOT like a Premium Guard, right down to "leak tested" on the dome. They look good for a $2-4 filter, although the efficiency isn't the greatest.

What I'm hearing is that "the cheap service filter the shop uses is not total crap" and that makes me happy. I just put a FrambTG3614 back on it because I wasn't sure about either the effects of a cleaning (that it probably didn't need but. See where I am?) or fuel dilution, which I'm not suspecting as much anymore.. and that the filter that came with the oil change (Pronto) is at least decent.

I thought someone told me to only run Mororcraft filters on Fords? Something to do with "proper oil flow." May have been bunk.

Here are the numbers off of it before it gets tossed. And if anyone wants me to try to pop the filter media off the inside can..

It has a cool "staircase" pattern, I wonder if other filters use the same metal stamping pattern.

Didn't look loaded up at all but that's to be expected for 1k miles. I've always liked how oil filters put cross references to other filters on them. Is your Taurus drinking oil & you decided to try a ring free medicine?

It's OCD. I have OCD.

That's why I fit in here. I fit in nowhere .

There is also the issue of that.. for a couple years (even before I started driving it,) the Taurus would "add oil to itself." Wasn't uncommon to check the oil particularly in the winter and see the level like 6" up the dipstick. Too full.

The Yamalube didn't seem to do anything. Guys like DIY Dave put it in their car and it turns off lights... for mine, it didn't do much.

Unrelated: O2 sensors quit today so the oil level is now at the full max mark on the cross hatch. Two days ago it was in the middle.

So I suspected fuel.... so, basically, the OPPOSITE of drinking oil.

For the past year or so . I've been using both cars interchangeably. One is going to HPL in May. It won't be the Taurus . The "oil smelling like gas"... Time for an intervention.

This is why you've been. Seeing frequent filter changes, bought the filter cutter for New Year Resolution 2023 similar to how I bought a box of . for same in 2021 and have used it occasionally so no less money wasted. Less is an improvement until you get to none.. and. After changing FPRS, I've been seeing almost no level adding of (what really can only be fuel) to the oil. Cooling system is fine thankfully. RMI-25 in there too.....

That's also why I bought a bunch of filters before they go up in price. I have one left now.

New O2s today, we go from there... (car has had an exhaust leak about a year too. Its loud.)

Here is about 24-48 hours ago, about the oil
It's now at the full max mark on the crosshairs. I can only think fuel.
