Private messages in search function

When did Xenforo go to putting your PMs in the search function?
You’ve always been able to search for your PMs.

Nobody else can search for your PM, or even see your PM, including admins and mods.

Look at the top right of your search box.

You have “everywhere” selected.

If you want to search only posts, then select “threads”.

Or you can select “this forum” for the section.

Or “this thread” which is self explanatory.

Whew...had me worried for a minute!
I like to talk about you behind your back. 🤣 🤣🤣

Kidding aside, if "they" have access to the database, which I'm sure they do, it doesn't really matter what the forum software supports or not.

This is true and of course we have access to the database and all backups. We do not read PMs in the database messages table. "Reading" a database table isn't quite what you may think. The data isn't human readable without tools and you'd have to link the user_id to a username in a different table, do that for everyone in the PM and present it in a format that makes sense. There would need to be a reason, which there never has been one and frankly I don't have time or the desire to see what you all write about me :)

Is that the matrix language you spoke about a while back?

I did notice something odd the other day with this, searching a user I only got PMs and much older posts/nothing newer. Went back to normal a few hours later. Weird but yeah, the search will bring up PMs if you don't choose "threads" and leave it to the default "everywhere".
