If you were watching the news on June 4th 1989, you probably remember that the Communist government in China cracked down a student movement and killed several thousands. One man from the government, Zhao, the purged Communist Party chief and former prime minister of China, who was removed from power in 1989 after he opposed the use of force against democracy protesters in Tiananmen Square.

He was house arrested till the day he died for his support of the students, but with the help of 3 friends, he recorded an audio memoir of the incident, and discussed how the China's political system and communist party internally should migrate to democracy.

I was a 6th grader at the time in Hong Kong, and knew that he is one of the rare "good guy" in the overall corrupted communist government up north. As of today, the government still trys to crack down on demonstration and wipe the truth off history textbook, but people still remember...

Oh ..that's right, you prefer the aristocracy or feudal systems. There's that Sheriff of Rottingham showing through again.

Maybe true if you're speaking about recorded history, but the vast majority of human history took place prehistorically, so how would you know?

And for the vast majority of human civilization you can commit murder without any consequences.

All depends on who is murdered and who is doing the murdering.

Nope, as long as you did the murder instead of being murdered, you get away with it.

Yes. Some aristocrats take better care of their pets.

The bottom line: If you're going to have an aristocracy, make better prep schools. The nobility and gentility of your governess of the rabble ..is how few of them there are under your rule.

I thinking the same way too, it seems the average person is pretty disinterested in the political process. If Canada elects a majority federal government we pretty much have a dictatorship for 4 years. Citizens have no direct input after they cast their ballot which means they don't really follow what our prime minister/dictator is up to unless they really mess up...

Democracy exists whether anyone likes it or not. The mob rules. If they don't, you have a revolution.

Or rather, you must satisfy the mob ..or you get a revolution.

Let them eat cake

Viva Le Bobo

Oddly, it is the very things that Tempest objects to that will make his aristocracy or feudal system function best. A pacified and neutered population ..all stupid ..all helpless..all dependent upon some noble to grant them their daily bread.
