Does anyone have any idea why gasoline prices are increasing "due to the increasing price of a barrel of crude oil" but engine oil prices are not generally going up? Is it because lots of engine oil is recycled or is it that they just haven't gotten around to ripping us off on engine oil yet?

If you shop carefully and aren't particular about which brand, you can often find one or more "good" dino oils at or near $1 a quart. This includes Chevron, Conoco-Phillips, Formula Shell, Citgo and Exxon-Mobil. Your local auto store should have "something" on sale, mine (Murray's) does every week. The last time I was in a Citgo station I was amused to see that the same Supergard for over $2 that I paid .59-.69 a quart for.

The dollar tree in sherman tx. has a full stock of 10w30 & 10w40 api sm oil ,still at a $1.00 qt.

I picked up four cases of Chevron @ $10.68 per case with a $4.80 rebate per case.

Works out to .49 cents per quart!

I think I may go back today and clear them out.
