prgramable thermostats

CO2 is a problem too in a tightly sealed house. Just me, the dog and the cat can drive it up 5 times the normal level of 400-500 ppm inside if there is no wind out.

Add in a family and gas cooking and it can get pretty high.

The only way to say one is better is you need 2 identical homes, all furnishings, paint, decor, furniture, flooring, has to be the same. Both homes need to be built beside each other and get the same weather. Put a programable in one, and set the other to a constant temp. You cannot tell from year to year if one is better because there are to many variables. It may have been warmer last winter, there may have been more wind this year, to many variables. I have mine set at a constant 20 Deg. Celcius. Because me and the wife work different schedules, we need it set more constant. I sent this topic to Mythbusters, I am hoping it comes up in one of their episodes.
