I just filled with prestone all makes all models 50/50 and it was green,i was expecting a yellow fluid, whats the deal ?

same with peak all makes, its green too.
but its still a dex clone.

I have my car filled with regular cheap green and never had a problem with the cooling system besides a cracked radiator at 130k miles. Original equipment was Toyota red coolant.

chevron does some Autozones carry it, I replaced dexcool with it on mine after it killed my IMG and thermostat o ring.

Donald,

Yep, used cars - was the coolant ever changed and if so to what and if there is a bleed valve was the system burped? The average driver seems to not realize there is a need for cooling system maintenance.

Pep boys Proline, Chevron and Trinity that I know of. We used to use Trinity at our shop. It's recycled and has the SCA addatives for HD diesels. The supplier gave us a better price on the Chevron so we went to that.

I think most still make it just that the stores don't stock it.

Here is Prestones line up. http://www.prestone.com/products/antifreezeCoolant.php

Scroll down the the 7th bottle. The HD stuff. It's not a Dexclone and neither is #10 the Prime stuff.

I have a bottle of the Prime stuff and it says it's good for 5 years/150k miles. Also contains 2-EHA. Sounds like a Dexclone to me.
