Bought a Mueller Kueps 432 650 Universal Press Support to expand the functionality of my press. I have a couple local garages that bring me quite a bit of Press-In wheel bearing work....They bring the Upright/Knuckle, Not the whole car.

Probably going to buy some different length bolts of the same thread size to expand it even further.

They send a columned paper so you can record each combination that works for the car you're working on, Can also print it off their website.

I'll try to give my thoughts after I use it a few times.....

We used to have one of those the last place I worked. It was great, but took a while to set up - by the time you'd got everything right, you'd have pressed the old one out and the new in using bits and pieces we'd collect around the press.

Yep, I've threatened to build something similar....but like so many things mostly idle threats.

The nuts and threaded rod look like they could come from my toe clamp sets, so "just" some threaded blocks is all I'd need.

I might actually do it by 2046.....

That is a really nice setup, great quality too. I just looked at the price, very reasonable for this quality.

But did you have a database of setups for the parts most repaired?

@clinebarger, maybe another mech already has a setup list online? Good business having other shops trust you and bringing you work.

With the wide range of vehicles on the road in NZ, a database is unlikely. Again, by the time you'd looked up the database, assembled all the components, the guy next to you would've had it done already.

As my business has only been up & running for 2 1/2 years & Bought my Press last May......I haven't yet amassed a large collection of "Bits & Pieces" to use as adaptors.
My OTC Hub Grappler makes most pressed front bearing services pretty easy....But doesn't cover all the stuff I'm seeing.

If it's all you've got you'll use it everytime and it'll become second nature. What we used before we got the jig was second nature, so we found it fiddly to use. I did like it, but was frustrated with the wasted time...we work on time here, not flat rate. Where I am now we have racks of steel...tube, solid round, box section, flats, angles, a band saw and a lathe - want a press adapter ? We make it.
