Looks like Formula Shell is added to the trimer-moly users list. Also do not see a reason to pick Royal Purple over the Shell.

Even if the price was equal across the board I'd easily pick the Shell offering from this bunch. It has the best flow AND the lowest NOACK.

Of course that is their API line, not HPS. I'd like to SEE HPS to see how it fares in comparison. On the other hand, Lucas was almost as bad as I expected esp. in the volatility category...

As I expected, the big names (Mobil, SOPUS brands, even my least-liked Castrol) showed up pretty solid.

Lucas was TERRIBLE!

It's interesting how Valvoline SynPower and Napa Synthetic are almost identical, except for a small change at -30C (one wonders if this is within the margin of error for the test). I also heard that Napa syn was SynPower with a watered down additive pack, but it certainly doesn't seem to be.

RP is about 8 dollars a quart and I bought FS synthetic for 3.50 a quart. For what it is worth.

I agree. In fact, I thought Napa was a clearly inferior oil based on what I had read on some other posts. Now I don't feel as bad as I was going to use it for the next several oil changes in my Ridge. The Ultra numbers are incredible.

Wow, you're right. Identical and 1/3rd the price.

Thanks for the update! I had no idea that FS would be that cheap in comparison.
