Change it on time with a good filter. Oil is so good now you really can't go wrong, unless you get Billy Joe Jim Bob Premium Oil from 7-11.

And even then it's surprising how many convenience store oils are API licensed (and PQIA confirms), some have pretty goofy names I'd never even consider using.

True indeed kschachn....

Interesting in my area I have seen the terrible garbage oils being sold. In 3 stations... One 2 miles west of me a BP sells some of it, a Shell station in Hopewell had a bunch of garbage oil for sale, and a Sunoco gas station in Waverly across the James River had some of the garbage oil for sale there....

Also interesting is that 2 Citgo gas stations in Charles City county sell all legitimate good oils. And the prices are actually very reasonable. $2.99 a qt for Formula Shell which is a everyday price there at Atkins store. Cam2 is also the same price there. No major grocery stores in Charles City county and only those two gas stations. At least they sell very good oils and other car needs at decent prices. Charles City county is one of the poorest in the state of Virginia. At least the store owners there are selling good oils to those people and not taking advantage of then either.

I don't know what they sell where you are, but here they are store branded and the oil looks good: http://www.pqiadata.org/7Eleven5W30.html

I can't recall for sure but some of the local ones carry various Pennzoil products as well...

So the motor oil is fine at 7-11, however, always check the date code on the frozen burritos, I had several that were months past the best-by-date...

Seems kind of pointless to be testing SN+/GF-5 oils when the new SP/GF-6 stuff is starting to show up on the shelves. I'd think everyone would like to see what the new formulas look like, instead of what we've been seeing for the last few years.

Yeah their oil is made by Warren Distribution which is obviously very good oil.

Definitely check dates on perishables from there... Could help prevent serious diarrhea or even worse food poisoning... No bueno

I actually have the NAPA 5w-30 blend in the Subaru's sump right now. Second time running it without any issue of course for a 4k or 4,500 mile interval. When Napa has their monthly sale's it's so hard to beat the price on those and works perfectly well. That Peak does look interesting though!

It seems that NAPA is basically re-badged Valvoline Daily Protection blend? The add package may not be spectacular but I doubt it makes a difference in 95% in the applications that call for an SN+/SP "conventional". The same goes with Gulf Pride oils. But yeah, PEAK and Navi look interesting..

Why doesn’t someone from PQIA jump in their car or call an Uber and run to WM and get some of the new SP/GF-6A stuff to test instead of testing stuff that’s been around a couple years that we’ve seen before.
